Uploading to View NX2

I upload my files to View NX2 which happens pretty quickly but when it comes to viewing and sorting it takes ages. Any ideas why this is or what I can do to improve/speed it up

Do you have a Mac computer or a Windows PC? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? How much memory does your computer have? All these affect rendering and loading speed.

Just check if you are accessing the files on the computer or on the card, from what you describe the program may be using the card instead of computer. The best method is to copy to computer, disconnect the card and then work.

I'm not sure but I think NX2's problem is that it loads too much of the image in its "view" library. In my case, when I look at the 100%s, those load considerably faster than they do in Lightroom but in everything else, NX2 is slower.

Thanks for all you replies. It doesnt take to long to load them to NX2 but when it takes to sorting them into different files etc then its really slow. e.g. It says processing for a while, I cut the files I want to move to another file and then have to start over again when going back into the downloads. I remove the card once the initial upload is done. I am using windows with 64bit.

Try Capture NX-D. It is not only significantly faster, but does a great job of RAW processing. On my 7 year old, dual quad core desktop, it just zips through.
