Hey guys,

I'm using d3200 and I met a problem while trying to connect the cam with PC. I plug the cable into the usb port and the PC shows no signs although my d3200 is on. In addition, this is the first time that the problem occured, before I could transfer my photos without a problem. Did anyone have the same problem and how did you solve it?

Highly recommended that you don't use cable connection for photo transfer. Get a card reader - the image transfer will be must faster - very very much faster and most importantly, it does not use your camera battery up and is much more reliable.

How old is your PC? Almost all PC's and Mac's have a SD card reader built in these day. If you have an older laptop with a PCMCIA slot, my recommendation is to get a SD reader that fits into the PCMCIA slot so you can leave it in there as there aren't anything else useful for that slot anyway. It installs flush with the laptop, nothing sticking out and so you can permanently leave it connected. When not using that adapter for transferring your camera's image, leave a 32GB card in there and use it as your extra SSD hard drive - your E: drive!!

Check your cord. Here in my household, everyone runs around looking for charge base's and cords to charge what ever it is they need charged. I leave my phone charger on the counter but whenever I need it again it's not there. My son took it to charge his Tablet. The cord that came with my D90 is the same cord which I use now because so many times the cords around here quit working. Not sure if it's a short in the cord or what. This maybe your problem if the cord you use is used often. Especially if removed from yanking on the cord and not the ends. Which is how my boys remove them. I have since purchased a card reader.

If it was working in past, and stopped working now, the culprit is most probably the cable.
. If you have more than one USB port, change the port and see if it works.
. If it does not, try another cable with the same connecter.
. If there are more than one computer then try on another one.
. If it still does not work, then may be the USB interface in the camera is gone.
