Early version of Capture NX-2

I just purchased a discounted copy of Nikon Capture NX-2. This copy of NX-2 does not seem to be upgradable beyond V 2.2.1. I get a message stating that the Nikon server cannot be contacted.

Capture NX2 is currently at V. 2.4.7.

I am using a Nikon D70 with ED & DX Lenses.

Am I losing any editing functionality in NX2 when using this earlier software with the older (D70) camera body?

I am not a pro and do not work with profiles and batch processing.

I found a Capture NX2 changelog for you which should explain the updates.

It looks like there's been a LOT of them and they look pretty important at first glance.

Nikon won't help you as they discontinued support for all C-NX products last month.

That would be my guess.

Most likely, someone knew the software would be useless soon and dumped it off on you.

I suggest that you return the software on account of its being discontinued, and download the free Capture NX-D.

I have used the beta version of NX-D with D70 and it works perfectly.

I tried again my forgotten today my Capture NX2 V. 2.4.7. It is not that bad.
