Google added support for more file formats in Google Docs yesterday. Why does this matter? It potentially gives you another free way to view files. Now if they would just add NEF support. . . .

The formats added are:

  • Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
  • Apple Pages (.PAGES)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
  • Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
  • Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
  • PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
  • TrueType (.TTF)
  • XML Paper Specification (.XPS)
I personally tried the PSD viewer and it worked perfectly. More info: 12 new file formats in the Google Docs Viewer - Docs Blog
