Hi Curt,
Love your pictures!
What lens do you mainly use? I just got my nikon and only have one lens thus far and it's a 18-105 1:35-56 and I can't the shots I want with it.

Just curious what shots you want to get with it that you're unable to get? Other than perhaps low-light situations where you don't care to raise the ISO, I can't really think of anything you can't do - unless you're looking to go either wider or "reach out" more with the lens.

Belinda, might I suggest the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens. Its pretty fast, pretty well made, light in weight, and the price is really good (under $150.00).
In low light it works great, and it is a very shape lens. So you will love it, and it will be on your camera, at least 80% of the time :).

Thank you Curt,

I have gotten a lot of feed back from everyone on here and a lot of people recommend that lens. I'm starting a digital 101 class in a couple of weeks and want another lens to work with. I have so much to learn, but I'm so excited. Will this be a good lens for detail?

Belinda, the Nikkor 50mm is very shape, many say as crisp & sharp as the most expensive lenses on the market. I highly recommend this lens for general use.
Also you might want to look at "Blue crane" videos for photo tips, I am pretty sure they have one just for the D90??

Hi, I'm Art. I have a Nikon D-80 with just one lens (for now), an 18-200 AF/VR DX lens which can even do some macro (I've had good luck shooting butterflies with it). My wife, Lynne, has a website where my photos (and some of hers) can be seen. It's entirely devoted to New England (we're from Massachusetts). Boston, Hot Air Balloons, Lighthouses, and Fall Foliage are our specialties, but we also have Nautical, Fireworks, Spring Bloom, and other galleries. Glad to find a community that supports us Nikon users exclusively!

if you'd like to out the website, it's http://www.gonyeagalleries.smugmug.com

Thanks,
Lynne and Art
